MED_A_Hilbert to ALL

[ it's Dr. Grumpus, bothering everybody about medical crap again! ]

Now that we have two medical officers awake and have recently returned from an alien planet, basic check-ups will be re-implemented. Check-ups will be BASIC: a P-HYMN-1.A scan, check on bracelet, and basic questions. These are mandatory for all crew members. There are only a handful of us, it is small ship, do not make me come and find you.

There is no set schedule for check-ups yet, as the moment I set schedule, it will inevitably have to be changed thanks to an off-planet visit or emotional manipulation from giant space alien or whatever will be thrown at us. Needless to say, after any ship-wide event affecting all or multiple members of the crew, you will at least undergo basic once-over.

As always, feel free to ask myself or Dr. Baizhu for assistance should you develop pains, unexplained symptoms, or deviance from the norm.

I also would like to thank crew members for continued assistance with the quarantine process involved in providing medicine to Captain Drake. Anyone who wishes to join that roster, please reply here.

I hope that is all. Please do not do anything that gives me cause to make shipwide announcement.

You're not wrong. And, as long as we don't see something insane like some giant space squid we'll be fine just dealing with the here and now.

[Wait for it. He keeps joking about those colossal space squids for some reason. There might be something subliminal going on in his head there...

(OOC and I might have just put in for a regain haha.)]

[Someone spoke a little bit too soon. Zaeed froze, almost rigid, for a moment. Thankfully he wasn't armed and when the vision began to fade, he was clearly in a place that was nothing like before. It helped a great deal that he'd seen this sort of thing a few times now.

But... yeah. Giant. Robotic. Calamari. With Space Lasers that destroyed buildings. This... was a fucking thing officially.]

God...damned... space... squids.

[His voice came through clenched teeth as he was clearly fighting to come back from it.]

Not... exactly, but fucking close.

[He realized how rigid his bodily stance was after a moment. Breathing slowly, he started to calm himself before finally speaking again. there was a quiver in his fingers and his jaw was set hard, but he was coming back.]

Spaceships or robot spacesquids. About the size of the Mnemosyne, maybe half its size. Army of them assaulting London of all fucking places. And one absolute fucking beast hovering over the city, easily 2k in length. It was a god-damned war zone.

I've been to London. Never saw anything like that before, but they'd fucked Big Ben up something fierce.

From dumb claw games to global warfare against giant fucking alien squids and their armada of cyber zombies.

...because there were fucking cyber zombies. Why the hell were there not be ... where the hell did they get all of this shit and jam it in my head? [He grunted and rubbed his temple.]

I'd say that we were getting some movie wired to our heads in our sleep, but we couldn't find any of this anywhere.

[He growled and nodded.] If I were to guess? Our memories are likely all very different. It's like an entirely different film playing in our heads. At this point I'd be more disturbed if you had the same memoriess.

...it'd feel more god-damned real.

[personal profile] anesthetic_rage 2025-03-04 03:15 am (UTC)(link)
... who said they're giving it to us?

[He turned and looked Hilbert in the eye as he said it. There was a concern there, a slightly unhinged thought.]

What if these are some sort of cosmic god-damned accident and L3TH3 has nothing to do with it?

[personal profile] anesthetic_rage 2025-03-07 03:35 am (UTC)(link)
...point. I was thinking of the ship or our higher ups. But we don't know if we encountered some unknown alien that messed with the ship's memory banks and screwed with us in our cryo sleep.

...we honest to god don't actually know a hell of a lot. Though I don't think it was the whale. Was seeing these before then.

Yeah, and I'm guessing you've never heard of something called a 'Reaper.' It's like eaach of us is connecting to something different. What I wouldn't give to know where this was coming from.

...

Actually, I might just regret it if we ever do find out.

... [He frowned. And for once, he voiced the crazy thought he suspected was on others' minds.]

Suppose they're real memories. What would that mean?
anesthetic_rage: (I love my work.)

[personal profile] anesthetic_rage 2025-03-17 03:51 am (UTC)(link)
Fair. Damned sure that I would have ... [Pause. Think.] Would have sworn just a little less. honest to fucking god, but ... I didn't feel that different from I am today. Just more grizzled. But it can't be real.

You're right of course. That's just god damned science fiction.

[He didn't sound any more sure himself.]

For now... I'm just going to try and cope. No point trying to sedate myself. Won't really help.

At least that's something I understand well enough. Keep soldiering on. [He grunted.] Look, doc. I appreciate getting this off my chest but I should get back to things. Unless you have something you need to say about yours.

...You know, before I open my damned mouth and trigger another one.
